Department of Assessment & Research

Welcome to the Department of Assessment & Research.

Purpose: To provide and support systems that empower students to show what they know and are able to do, thereby supporting their decision making regarding their learning, and providing evidence to teachers that informs instruction.

Our district assessment practices are linked to students’ understanding of where they are, what they can do, and what they need to work on to continue their learning. We work to ensure that our teachers are able to effectively link assessment evidence to teaching and learning every day.

Please note: As of July 1, 2016 the Division of Accountability & Research has been restructured into three individual teams: the Department of Assessment and Research (now under the Division of Equity in Learning), the Department of Accountability & Data Reporting and the Office of Autonomous Schools (both of which are under the Division of the Superintendent).
